Atos Origin Confirmed as One of Renault’s Preferred IT Partners

Automobile manufacturer Renault has awarded a three-year IT services contract to Atos Origin covering applications related to vehicle design, manufacturing, sales and corporate functions. This new agreement follows on a contract signed in 2005 for which Atos Origin achieved all of its service quality, process standardization and cost reduction targets. With this new contract, Renault has extended Atos Origin’s mission to include owner-operator support services. Atos Origin will cover 75% of the scope of applications.

The first stage of transformation carried out with Atos Origin over the past five years allowed Renault to achieve its targets for productivity gains, quality improvement and excellence, in line with business milestones. Renault’s and Atos Origin’s teams saw their work to industrialize and improve IT development recognized with CMMI 3 certification in 2008.

“Atos Origin has demonstrated its ability to provide quality services on time and on budget. We will continue this partnership and are counting on Atos Origin to take our IT systems to an even higher level, in our drive for competitive advantage. We will need to be even more proactive and continue to reduce our costs,” explains Renault CIO François Gitton.
