PROSTEP Free Webinar: Navigate around Obstacles with Shipbuilding Enterprise Interoperability (45 Min)
More than 100 suppliers are involved in the process of developing and building a ship , and they all have to carefully coordinate their work with one another to ensure that all the parts are available on time and fit together perfectly.
Heterogeneous IT systems, a lack of appropriate interfaces and manual processes often make data communication in development projects a time-consuming task. Shipyards and suppliers are therefore looking for solutions that will allow them to reduce the time and effort involved in communication and use their manpower more efficiently.
Attendees will gain an understanding of the following topics:
• What differentiates a Shipbuilding Engineering infrastructures from those used in Automotive and Aerospace
• What consequences arise from a lack of integration and collaboration capabilities?
• The use of international standards for integration and collaboration in Shipbuilding.
• Data that are relevant for integration: starting with steel, over piping to machinery, electrics and equipment
• How to integrate with systems like AVEVA's Tribon, ShipConstructor or Intergraph's "SmartMarine"
