In this article, published by Engineering.com, CIMdata’s President & CEO, Peter Bilello, reflects on key takeaways from the recent PLM Road Map & PDT North America conference, cautioning that organizations may be advancing into digital transformation too hastily. The discussion highlights that, despite rapid adoption, foundational understanding—particularly around Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), digital twins, digital threads, and robust data governance—remains insufficient. The article emphasizes that genuine digital transformation requires more than just deploying technology. It demands executive sponsorship, organizational change management, workforce alignment, interoperability standards, and a holistic integration of PLM across the full lifecycle. Only by addressing these structural and cultural elements, he argues, can organizations fully leverage digital tools and avoid superficial or unsustainable initiatives. Read the full article here. The next PLM Road Map & PDT conference is set for 5 & 6 November in Paris, France. To view the original article, please click here.
