The 2015 R2 release of Delcam’s PowerINSPECT inspection software makes it easier to complete fast and accurate inspection of complex assemblies.  The new version includes more options for automation of inspection sequences, including automated probe changes, automatic feature extraction for point cloud batch inspection, and greater control over collision checking. The main improvement for users of CNC CMMs is the addition of support for MCR20 and FCR25 probe change racks.  PowerINSPECT can now incorporate probe changes into fully-automated measurement sequences.  Enhancements to the probe database allow the user to define probe tools in terms of ‘sub-assemblies’ which can be docked in the rack ports.  A typical example of a sub-assembly is the combination of a probe module and a stylus.  Once created, the sub-assemblies are allocated to specific ports in the probe change rack, and the user defines the physical location of the rack on the CMM by measurement.  PowerINSPECT carries out

BobCAD-CAM, Inc. includes dynamic drawing snap increment functionality with the company’s new Version 28 CAD-CAM software release. The feature is available as a standard CAD tool with new BobCAD-CAM V28 purchases and upgrades. All dynamic drawing functions in BobCAD-CAM now include the new snap increment function, which acts as a uniform grid in the CAD design workspace. This allows the user to define a snap increment based on distances or angles. This feature, which can be turned on & off, was created to speed up the drawing process for users that prefer to work on a grid style workspace when creating their 2D & 3D part models. It effectively reduces the number of clicks and data entry modifications typically required in a grid-less CAD system to allow for greater design workflow capabilities. “The new snap increment functionality in CAD is going to save a lot of everyday programmers valuable time and money,” explains Al DePoalo,
