Innovyze announced the worldwide availability of the V13 Generation of its industry-leading InfoSWMM 2D for ArcGIS (Esri, Redlands, CA). InfoSWMM 2Ddelivers new ways to quickly and accurately build and analyze very large and comprehensive two-dimensional (2D) models that reliably simulate complex urban stormwater, sanitary sewers, river flooding and pollutant transport. It allows users to accurately predict the extent and duration of urban and rural flooding for comprehensive stormwater management directly within the powerful ArcGIS environment. A fully hydrodynamic geospatial stormwater modeling and management software application, InfoSWMM 2D can be used to model the entire land phase of the hydrologic cycle as applied to urban stormwater systems. Built atop ArcGIS and using exceptionally robust and efficient numerical simulation capabilities, the model can perform single-event or long-term (continuous) rainfall/runoff simulations accounting for climate, soil, land use, and topographic conditions of the watershed. In addition to simulating runoff quantity, InfoSWMM 2D can reliably predict runoff quality, including buildup and

EEC: EPLAN Engineering Configuration

Mechatronic configuration is one of the core topics within the spectrum of services of EPLAN Engineering Center. The product is being renamed at the start of SPS IPC Drives to EPLAN Engineering Configuration, or “EEC” for short – the same abbreviation as before. Configuration as a core functionality will now be reflected in the product name. For many years, EPLAN has been offering integrated mechatronic configuration solutions through EEC that can be used to configure components, machines and even complex installation projects. The decision to rename the EEC product was driven by the benefits it offers customers: EPLAN represents “efficient engineering” – standardisation and modularisation via configuration are a decisive step in this direction. The consistency of the configuration across all engineering disciplines, including mechanics, electrics and software, makes forward-looking mechatronic configuration possible. Along with the name change, the EEC version number will be synchronised with that of the EPLAN Platform. The coming

Apriso 9.7 is now available from Dassault Systèmes, with enriched integration to the company’s digital manufacturing applications. As the first significant new product introduction since Dassault Systèmes’ acquisition of Apriso Corporation, the Apriso 9.7 application suite offers an improved business experience for Apriso users, with closer, out-of-the-box integration to other DELMIA Digital Manufacturing products, helping to better bridge the gap between the virtual and real worlds of manufacturing. This Apriso product portfolio update delivers enhanced digital continuity from design to execution, supporting paperless manufacturing initiatives while accelerating new product introduction. “The launch of Apriso 9.7 represents an important first step to becoming part of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. Apriso capabilities will be available by simply adding widgets to the platform, extending real-time visibility to manufacturing intelligence to engineers and other users of the platform,” said John Fishell, DELMIA Product Management at Dassault Systèmes. Dassault Systèmes customers can use Apriso 9.7 to help ensure engineering designed work instructions are

AVEVA announced today a new contract with OAO VNIPIneft, for the supply of AVEVA Engineering software. The new deployment complements VNIPIneft’s existing AVEVA 3D design system by enabling 2D schematic and engineering data to be integrated into the common project information asset. Alexey Berezhnoy, Deputy Managing Director, VNIPIneft, explained the importance of this contract in increasing the company’s capabilities and deepening the relationship with AVEVA. ‘The number of contracts that VNIPIneft executes has increased dramatically in recent years and we expect this positive trend to continue,’ he said. ‘Maintaining such momentum and expanding capabilities and productivity is essential for the development of every company. For this reason, we are very careful with the technologies we work with and with the choice of the partners who supply it. VNIPIneft’s multi-disciplinary teams of engineers develop engineering information that defines a wide range of project components, such as lines, equipment and valves, together with

MSC Software Corporation today announced that Laboratoire Vibrations Acoustique (LVA) of INSA-Lyon, one of the top universities of Science and Technology in Europe, has selected MSC Software's Actran acoustic analysis software to develop innovative acoustic methods at the laboratory. The Laboratoire Vibrations Acoustique (LVA) was created in the 1970's to build bridges between research domains such as structural dynamics and acoustics. Today, LVA applies computational modeling and simulation to several research topics to develop innovative methods that are first applied to academic problems, and then on realistic systems in order to demonstrate their applicability within industrial processes. Acoustic source identification and inverse methods are typical domains where new simulation processes benefit the methods development initiatives at LVA. In acoustics, inverse methods cover a wide field of applications, which all rely on the same concept: identifying the inputs of a linear system by observing the outputs. However, the term of identification methods encompasses goals as
