Tens of thousands of football fans can focus on the action on the pitch during the upcoming FIFA World Cup without having to be concerned about the structural integrity of the stadium, thanks to engineering simulation technology from ANSYS. Multiphysics analysis validated that the fierce Brazilian winds won't impact the safety for spectators and teams in the Estadio Nacional Mane Garrincha stadium in Brasilia. Engineers completed the analysis in two weeks – about one-tenth the time required for traditional wind-tunnel validation – for 66 percent lower costs compared to physical testing methods. The stadium was originally built in 1974 and was refurbished to include a new facade, metal roof and stands — as well as a lowered pitch that offers unobstructed views from every seat. NOVACAP, a Brazilian state company involved in construction in Brasilia, worked with Paulo de Mattos Pimenta, professor at the University of Sao Paulo, to validate the stadium's structural integrity

After MLC CAD Systems became the Nation's leading reseller of Mastercam CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing) software in 2013, sales continue to accrue at the same record-setting pace. Joel Hill, Director of Business Development for MLC CAD Systems attributed the company's sales success to the power and flexibility of the Mastercam product line converging with a robust manufacturing sector in the Southern United States. Joel commented, “During the past three-to-five years many manufacturers have begun to take advantage of significant improvements in CAM software to double and even triple their productivity with existing manpower. These improvements have been so impressive that some of the work previously lost to low-cost, off-shore competitors is returning to the United States.” With 14 offices throughout the Southern United States, MLC CAD has taken advantage of growing opportunities in the region’s aerospace, medical device, energy, and oil and gas industries to become North America’s leading reseller of Mastercam

ZWSOFT has announced the results of an in-depth industry research study with 4 major product design and manufacturing company customers, based on issues and problems that they have experienced while using CAD software. Six main issues were introduced by these companies, all of which were addressed with a switch to ZWCAD+. Compatibility Compatibility was the first problem mentioned by all 4 firms, which included metal manufacturers and lighting and switchboard manufacturers from China, Thailand and Korea. With the vast amount of CAD and other specialist software available, as well as the high level of collaboration that is involved with product design and manufacturing, the firms wanted strong compatibility to allow users to open and edit drawings from a variety of origins, in one design environment. ZWCAD+ offers compatibility with all mainstream CAD software, meaning users can open files from clients and collaborators without the risk of changes or time consuming conversions.
