Delcam will highlight developments in three programs from its range of manufacturing software on stand H57 in Hall 8 at the Euromold exhibition to be held in Frankfurt, Germany, from 25th to 28th November.  The new CADCAM software on show will include the 2015 releases of the PowerSHAPE Pro CAD package, the PowerMILL CAM system and the Delcam Electrode suite for the design, machining and inspection of electrodes. EMC Corporation announced that Zane Rowe has joined the company as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer reporting to Joe Tucci, EMC Chairman and CEO. Rowe now assumes all internal and external financial responsibilities for EMC’s consolidated business. Prior to joining EMC, Rowe had a successful 19-year financial and corporate strategy career first at Continental Airlines where he rose to the role of Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. HP today announced plans to separate into two new publicly traded Fortune 50 companies: one comprising HP’s market-leading enterprise technology infrastructure, software and services businesses, which will do business as Hewlett-Packard Enterprise, and one that will comprise HP’s market-leading personal systems and printing businesses, which will do business as HP Inc. and retain the current logo. Immediately following the transaction, which is expected to be completed by the end of fiscal 2015, HP shareholders will own shares of both Hewlett-Packard Enterprise and HP Inc. The EDA Consortium (EDAC) Market Statistics Service (MSS) today announced that the Electronic Design Automation (EDA) industry revenue increased 6.3 percent for Q2 2014 to $1757.9 million, compared to $1653.4 million in Q2 2013. Sequential EDA revenue for Q2 2014 increased 0.7 percent compared to Q1 2014, while the four-quarters moving average, which compares the most recent four quarters to the prior four quarters, increased by 5.8 percent. "Double-digit increases in PCB/MCM and Semiconductor IP led the way to an overall increase in industry revenue for Q2," said Walden C. Rhines, board sponsor for the EDAC MSS and chairman and CEO of Mentor Graphics. "Geographically, all regions except Japanhad solid revenue increases." Companies that were tracked employed 31,259 professionals in Q2 2014, an increase of 6.7 percent compared to the 29,304 people employed in Q2 2013, and up 2.7 percent compared to Q1, 2014. Software training firm Infinite Skills Inc. this week released its "Mastering Autodesk Inventor - Administration and Data Exchange," an advanced course designed for experienced Inventor users, particularly those working in a company environment, teaching the program's features for producing model libraries and templates in order to track data and allow for importing and exporting of models and drawings. Autodesk Inventor is a 3D CAD software used to create, visualize, and simulate mechanical products. Infinite Skills "Mastering Autodesk Inventor - Administration and Data Exchange Tutorial" focuses on the program's tools for data management that allows users to create libraries and templates for standardized models and drawings that can be imported and exported for modification and use within individual projects. Rand Worldwide announced that its IMAGINiT Technologies division released an updated version of its Scan to BIM software, Scan to BIM 2015.1.
