Siemens PLM Software has released version 26.1 of Parasolid software. Parasolid version 26.1 includes enhancements to a wide variety of areas with a special focus on providing high level functionality to support the productivity of sophisticated end-users who encounter complex geometric configurations in their daily work. Building on foundations of industry-hardened technology; these new capabilities allow application developers to deliver productivity boosting solutions to overcome problems that would otherwise require considerable end-user skill and time. Vero Software is unveiling a number of ground-breaking innovations, along with launching a new module, at the MACH 2014 Exhibition. The Altair Partner Alliance (APA) today announced the expansion of its offering with the addition of material failure prediction software DigitalClone, by Sentient Science. The first of its kind to be offered within the program, DigitalClone™ will allow HyperWorks users to better control product lifecycles by predicting failure probability throughout the design process.  The web-based software, DigitalClone Component™, determines the future life and performance of rotating components including bearings, gears, and splines. Design and testing teams can interrogate DigitalClone material microstructure models to test the variance of a product’s reliability under trade studies such as different duty cycles, materials, lubricants, and surface treatments. This capability enables much more testing of product performance and reliability within program budget and time. "Sentient provides Altair customers with failure prediction and life extension for their mechanical components and systems within product development, within test, and in fielded assets in real operating conditions,” said Ward Thomas, President of Sentient Science.

Gibbs and Associates today announced that a new add-in from SpaceClaim Corporation a provider of flexible and affordable 3D modeling software for engineers, is immediately available for GibbsCAM. The GibbsCAM–SpaceClaim Add-in installs dynamic-link libraries (DLLs) that enable the simple file transfer between the two products, and it is available, free of charge, for both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of GibbsCAM. Once installed the Add-in appears in GibbsCAM’s Plug-ins drop-down menu, and allows users to import 3D models from SpaceClaim for machining, and to export part models to SpaceClaim for modification or for use in modeling workholding devices with its very friendly, easy to use modeling software.
