Version 4.1 of PROSTEP's PDF Generator 3D is now available and offers a number of small but nonetheless excellent and very useful enhancements and new features. For example, in version 4.1, the Model Script plug-in for the converter engine – available since version 4.0 – provides a function that allows the color of product manufacturing information (PMI) to be changed as desired during conversion. This not only allows printing costs to be saved but also improves visualization of PMI. As of version 4.1, support is also provided for the CAD system version NX® 9 from Siemens PLM Software®. Another highlight that the new version of PDF Generator 3D offers is the merging of geometry data on any level. This allows individual assemblies to be grouped together for a spare parts BOM, for example, and at the same time allows methodology know-how to be hidden better – making an important contribution to know-how protection.
