International TechneGroup Incorporated (ITI) was selected by the Product Innovation Congress to lead a think-tank discussion on PLM best practices on Wednesday, October 22, in San Diego, CA. ITI Executive Vice President of Product Lifecycle Management, Tom Makoski, is scheduled to lead “The Strategic Role of Legacy Data Migration in PLM Implementation” as part of the Product Innovation Congress’ Think Tank Series. Legacy data migration projects, within the context of large enterprise-wide PLM implementations, are often the cause of scheduling delays, cost overruns, and the dissemination of poor product data that cannot be reused or shared across the team or within the PLM applications. With more than a decade of PLM implementation experience across multiple verticals, Makoski will lead attendees through success strategies for on-time, on-budget implementations, risk and personnel management, and lessons learned. “We find that our clients often under estimate the work involved with legacy data migrations,” says Makoski. “This is a

Computer Simulation Technology AG (CST) will preview the upcoming version of its flagship electromagnetic simulation tool, CST STUDIO SUITE® 2015, at European Microwave Week (EuMW) 2014, booth 109. CST STUDIO SUITE is used by engineers and researchers working across the electromagnetic spectrum to model systems and optimize designs. Its tightly-integrated solvers cover a broad range of frequencies and geometrical scales, and are complemented by more specialized technology for applications such as PCBs, cables, thermal analysis, and charged particle devices. As devices become more compact and more connected, the old distinctions between different fields of engineering break down. Increasingly, even a single design task can involve multiple simulation disciplines. With CST STUDIO SUITE 2015, the links between the different simulation domains have been tightened and new tools have been added to allow users to go beyond what can be done with electromagnetic field simulation alone.   Synthesis and design tools supplement simulation by making

With workflow, collaboration and 3D GIS being the big themes at this year's InterGeo exhibition in Berlin this October, Carlson Software is keen to showcase their latest Carlson CADnet release to the civil engineering, survey and construction crowd. After successfully integrating the SDK toolkit from leading 3D PDF developers PDF3D, Carlson can now offer the ability to convert DWG file data within their CADnet program, into 2D and 3D PDFs. "Our new PDF engine means that CADnet users can share their drawings with anyone regardless of whether or not they have access to CAD software. Recipients can now easily view the drawings in PDF using the free Adobe Reader, which comes standard with most computers. From a workflow perspective, this greatly simplifies processes and communications between parties," explained Dave Carlson, VP of Development for Carlson Software. In addition to creating 3D PDFs, the new CADnet release includes the ability to import layers in PDF documents and

Delcam’s South Korean joint venture, Hankook Delcam, held its 25th User Group Conference at the Hyundai Hotel in Kyeong-Ju on 26th and 27th September.  The theme for this year’s meeting was ‘Big Jump Up’, a reference to the large increases in productivity being seen by companies adopting software and services from Hankook Delcam.  Over 1,300 attendees set a new record number for the event, reinforcing its position as the world’s largest meeting for CAM users. The meeting was the first major event to be held for Korean users since the acquisition of Delcam by Autodesk in February.  The audience was, therefore, especially interested in the presentations from Delcam President, Clive Martell, and Buzz Kross, senior vice president for Design, Lifecycle and Simulation products at Autodesk. Mr. Martell said that the acquisition represented Delcam’s own ‘Big Jump Up’.  "Autodesk brings to Delcam increased financial strength, unparalleled expertise in design, and a long history
