Dassault Systèmes today announced that its new SOLIDWORKS Inspection application is now available. Unveiled at SOLIDWORKS World 2014 in January, SOLIDWORKS Inspection completely automates the creation of inspection documents, which are required by numerous industries. Meeting international standards is key in today’s global manufacturing world. Regardless of whether a company does business locally or globally, it has to submit early design and manufacturing reports such as a First Article Inspection (FAI) report, inspection report or ballooned drawing (where dimensions for inspections are drawn in a balloon or bubble shape). These reports measure the property and geometry of a product before it is built – and are critical for organizations facing the stringent requirements and safety regulations of the transportation & mobility, aerospace & defense, energy, process & utilities and life sciences industries. With the SOLIDWORKS Inspection application, companies can quickly re-use existing design data and content to create highly accurate inspection reports, such

Omnify Software today unveils its latest Empower PLM application story featuring WiTricity, the industry pioneer in Highly Resonant Wireless Power Transfer (HRWPT) over distance. WiTricity implemented Empower in the company's early stages in order to employ automated and efficient engineering processes that would position them for success as they grew. WiTricity was a typical start-up company with a small team managing design information in Excel spreadsheets. Even with the minimal amount of data they were managing, they were experiencing the chaos of manual processes. Spreadsheet revisions were constantly changing with no formal change control process or centralized repository location. They needed to replace their Excel spreadsheets with a more formal and controlled automated system for managing dynamic product information such as Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering changes and product documentation. Omnify Empower was ideal for a start-up company like WiTricity. It offered a price that was competitive with a part management system they were considering,
