For the third year in a row, ANSYS has earned an award celebrating unique tools that improve and simplify the electronic design process. ANSYS won the DesignCon 2014 DesignVision Award for the Integrated Circuit (IC) Design Tools category for ANSYS PathFinder-D technology. A comprehensive layout-based electro-static discharge (ESD) integrity solution, PathFinder is critical to custom IC designers because it helps identify weak areas of the design in layout or circuit that could potentially cause ESD failures. Historically, electronic components have often experienced ESD failures, or electrical shorts. However, these failures are becoming more frequent due to the rise in use of smart devices, shrinking geometries, higher levels of digital and analog integration and advanced electronic package designs. So the advanced technology to address these phenomena is becoming increasingly valuable. Centric Software, Inc., is expanding its reach in Europe with the addition of its first customer in Germany, MUSTANG Jeans. MUSTANG, an iconic jeans brand in Europe, has selected Centric to provide its product lifecycle management (PLM) software. The company—maker of the first jeans and first corduroy jeans in Europe—will implement the Centric 8 PLM software for apparel throughout its women’s wear and men’s wear product groups. ModuleWorks are delighted to reveal that 2013 has been a record year for the company. Revenue has increased by over 25% and there have been more than 20 new sales.  Of particular interest has been the success of the relatively new products/modules for 5-Axis MultiBlade machining (aimed mainly at Impellers and Blisks), 5-Axis Port machining (aimed at automotive engines) and 2 to 5-Axis Adaptive Roughing (optimizes Roughing for general production machining). The growth in the company has allowed increased investment in development, with the recruitment of 12 new people to join the team.  Because ModuleWorks does not provide end user products and only works with partners, it is a very development focussed company.  This allows the large majority of all employees, currently 80%, to work as part of the development team.
