Aras Releases Microsoft Azure Certified Cloud PLM Suite

Aras® today announced the availability of a Microsoft Azure Certified version of the Aras Innovator® enterprise PLM solution in the Azure virtual machine gallery of cloud applications in the Azure Marketplace. The new Aras offering is ideal for global companies with an Azure account that need to quickly deploy a full PLM suite for the supply chain, joint ventures, fast moving product lines and other applications. With the Azure Certified version of Aras companies can provision a secure, full-featured PLM solution in minutes, complete with Bill of Materials / BOM management, document management, revision & versioning, check-in/out file vaulting, item & file relationships, classification, configuration management, change workflows with effectivity, project portfolio dashboards, stage-gate project management and more.

Aras on Azure is ideal for business initiatives that must be up and running quickly, those with short-term / finite durations, and programs where eliminating PLM license expenses matters. Scenarios include new product collaboration with customers and suppliers, joint ventures that require a standalone PLM environment, and projects that fall outside the scope of the existing legacy PLM system. Aras on Azure also offers an easy, cost-effective way to evaluate the Aras Innovator suite.

Azure is the only major cloud platform ranked by Gartner as a leader for both infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) and platform-as-a-service (PaaS). This powerful combination of managed and unmanaged services gives businesses flexibility to build, deploy and manage applications. That’s why more than 57% of Fortune 500 companies rely on Azure today.

“Global enterprises need new alternatives for non-traditional PLM scenarios like joint ventures and supply chain collaboration where it’s not an option to use the existing legacy PLM system,” said Peter Schroer, President of Aras. “With Microsoft, we’re delivering a complete Cloud PLM offering that can be used for projects and product lines that don’t fit in the conventional PLM box.”

“Companies can deploy Azure Certified cloud applications such as Aras with confidence knowing that each solution has received certification on Azure,” said Garth Fort, General Manager of Enterprise Partners, Microsoft. “Aras can be directly deployed in the Azure Certified gallery in the Azure Marketplace giving customers a powerful new way to access enterprise PLM.”
