Granta Design has released the latest version of GRANTA MI, its platform for managing materials knowledge. Version 8.1 expands on developments added in 8.0, the company states. Added features include Web app control over user groups to support workflows such as composite qualification.
The release adds tools and data structures for composite qualification and managing data related to additive manufacturing. It also has a multi-step importer for integrating complex data into the system, enabling users to place data from a single spreadsheet into multiple locations.
With the MI:Explore Web app interface, users can upload and edit data with a drag-and-drop method. Database access can also be customized and configured to desired privacy settings.
The company states that it is delivering more frequent upgrades with significant features to respond to customer needs faster.
“Our customers are all companies that take the management of materials knowledge seriously,” says Patrick Coulter, chief operating officer at Granta Design. “This release delivers more of the features they want in order to do their jobs even more effectively. We’re pleased that more frequent releases will mean such developments are made available to customers sooner.”
