Hi-Lex Corporation and Inceptra LLC, the largest Value Added Reseller of Dassault Systemes' (DS) 3DEXPERIENCE Solutions in North America, announced today that Hi-Lex has completed the migration of its legacy PLM database, based on Dassault Systemes' SMARTEAM software, to the new DS 3DEXPERIENCE Platform at four sites including Hi-Lex Controls, Hi-Lex America, Hi-Lex Cable Co. Ltd in the United Kingdom, and Hi-Lex Europe Gmbh in Schweinfurt, Germany.
The Hi-Lex legacy ENOVIA SMARTEAM environment, which managed CATIA V5 data and other Computer-Aided Design solutions, was migrated to the new 3DEXPERIENCE Platform. The new environment now manages design and engineering data including workflow management and release approval. This project was completed using a comprehensive PLM migration tool developed by Inceptra to migrate all Hi-Lex legacy data from SMARTEAM, maintaining all project references and data security, all legacy CAD data including full revision history and all assembly configurations and those of each revision.
The Hi-Lex implementation completes the first phase of their objective to expand to a full Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Solution including Bills of Material, Change Management and support for DS' CATIA V5 data as well as other CAD data. This migration also positions Hi-Lex to work on future programs with CATIA V6 on the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform.
Mike Topolewski, Senior Director of Engineering said, "We are extremely pleased to have achieved this first phase of our new PLM implementation and the value delivered from the DS 3DEXPERIENCE Platform. Our implementation was able to be accomplished thanks to the unmatched knowledge of Inceptra consultants and the comprehensive toolset developed by Inceptra to preserve and migrate our legacy data from SMARTEAM to this new system."
Dan Smith, Chief Technology Officer at Inceptra said "Inceptra and Hi-Lex fully validated the migration process to ensure that high quality data in 3DEXPERIENCE supported all of their work processes. Each customer's SMARTEAM database is configured to meet their needs and the Inceptra migration tool was developed to be flexible to work with these disparate custom environments. We are pleased to have completed this phase of the project as planned and within budget."
