OpenBOM announced the availability of OpenBOM Professional User Subscription for non-commercial use, for educators, markers, professional development, and other non-commercial projects.
The way designers develop their products is changing. More and more products are the result of a ground-up effort which often starts with an individual effort. To support these users OpenBOM has announced that OpenBOM is available for free personal use for individuals who are doing home-based, non-commercial design, manufacturing, and fabrication projects.
“We are happy to put first class BIll of Material management tools in the hands of the individual non-commercial users…. For whatever project they may be designing!” says Oleg Shilovitcky, OpenBOM CEO and co-founder. “Our non-commercial subscription has been hugely successful with registration rates continuing to increase as we release new functionality monthly.”
Users worldwide are finding the non-commercial subscription really meets their needs.
“With OpenBOM, I clicked and it worked! It was nice to see all information already filed in CAD come to my BOM. Material for example is very important and it came right to the BOM,” says Petros Matsakos, who relies heavily on OpenBOM to socialize the design of his open-source 3D printer. “Selecting PET or Nylon, and Make / Buy settings are important to my design and that is totally automatic with OpenBOM.”
Adoption of OpenBOM continues to rise as the company offers advanced Team management and Company level subscriptions.
Designer Anders Hansson says, "By starting to use OpenBOM there is a great relief to me as it saves a lot of time to keep track of components."
