DENSO has been operating on an engineering BOM system that it previously built to fit its business processes by combining multiple open systems, including host systems and web clients. However, as these systems aged, DENSO began evaluating multiple systems to find a successor. The company decided to take the engineering platform it has been using for years and migrate to the Aras platform. DENSO selected Aras Innovator because it will provide the organization with the flexibly required to support business processes without extensive development.
DENSO valued Aras' rich standard application suite to shorten the development cycle, its customizability based on flexible architecture to adopt to business processes, and its upgradability to manage and maintain product data. DENSO believes that it will be able to expand its use of Aras Innovator to become an integrated engineering information platform that can not only manage digital product information, but also quickly utilize that data.
The Aras platform will enable DENSO to develop a true digital thread and ensure full product lifecycle traceability of design information. The organization will have the ability to track a product and its digital assets all the way from concept through design, manufacturing, quality and service. This unbroken flow of information will help DENSO gain crucial insights that can inform decisions throughout every aspect of the product lifecycle—improving communication and collaboration, resulting in the creation of better products with a shorter time to market.
“To remain competitive, you need technology that meets your needs today and tomorrow,” said Masahiko Hisatsugu, President of Aras Japan. “By leveraging the resiliency of the Aras platform, DENSO will be able to stay competitive on systems built for the present day while assured that the entire organization is making decisions based on data it can trust.”
