Bechtle bolsters international business

Bechtle has restructured its international operations, consolidating activities previously managed by three separate units under a single umbrella, effective from 1 January 2026. Within the new Bechtle International Division (BID), the European IT service provider manages projects for internationally active corporations and large SMEs with a multinational presence. The division brings together the former International Sales Division, the International Business Unit, as well as collaboration with more than 300 partners across 180 countries. As a central hub, the Bechtle International Division’s services are available to all Bechtle Group companies across Europe. The leadership team remains unchanged, with Dr Benedikt Schmidt, Markus Schmidt and Johannes Knausenberger continuing to head the division.

The Bechtle International Division’s services for global customer projects include business development, bid and tender management, and operational delivery. The team of more than 100 employees focuses on companies with more than 5,000 IT seats and a multinational footprint. “Our international business is a cornerstone of Bechtle’s long-term success. In recent years, we’ve established ourselves as a trusted IT partner for globally active customers—and we’re committed to building on that foundation,” says Konstantin Ebert, COO, Bechtle AG.

Bechtle operates in 14 European countries through its own subsidiaries, supporting internationally active SMEs and global corporations in large, centrally managed IT projects with services that range from remote support to dedicated on-site teams at customer locations. Strong partnerships are essential to delivering these services, including those within the Global IT Alliance. Established by Bechtle in 2013, this network now brings together 14 partners with more than 240 locations across 96 countries.

Bechtle is accelerating its international growth by strengthening key units such as the Bechtle International Division and continuing its M&A strategy. Over the past five years, the company has completed 23 acquisitions—18 of them outside Germany—and plans to further expand its presence in European markets through targeted acquisitions.
