HOMAG Group with significant improvement in earnings in fiscal year 2025

The HOMAG Group significantly improved its earnings in the 2025 fiscal year thanks to the cost-cutting and optimization measures implemented. In a market environment that remained challenging, order intake increased slightly, while sales were slightly below the previous year’s level.

The HOMAG Group’s order intake increased slightly in 2025 to EUR 1,380 million (previous year: EUR 1,357 million), according to preliminary figures. “The demand for production systems for timber house construction has developed positively,” emphasizes CEO Dr. Daniel Schmitt. In this area, HOMAG achieved a new record order intake, including the largest order to date from the timber construction sector. “In the furniture sector, on the other hand, we have not seen any recovery; if anything, the tariff conflicts have further intensified the uncertainty in the furniture industry,” said the CEO. The orders on hand decreased to EUR 726 million as of December 31, 2025 (Dec. 31, 2024: EUR 781 million).

Due to the continuing difficult order situation in the business with furniture manufacturers, sales declined slightly in 2025 to EUR 1,372 million (previous year: EUR 1,413 million). The HOMAG Group was able to improve EBIT before extraordinary effects by around 50 percent to EUR 76.1 million (previous year: EUR 50.8 million). This corresponds to a margin of 5.5% (previous year: 3.6%). The significant increase in earnings is primarily attributable to cost reductions resulting from the personnel measures implemented and the stable service business. Dr. Daniel Schmitt: “We benefited fully from our reduced costs for the first time in 2025. The past fiscal year has shown how important it was to adjust our capacities in view of the continuing weakness in demand in the furniture sector.” The number of employees decreased to 6,471 as of December 31, 2025 (Dec. 31, 2024: 6,802).

For the current year, HOMAG expects different developments in its business segments. In production technology for timber house construction, the positive trend in demand is likely to continue. In the larger business with the furniture industry, it is currently difficult to predict when demand will pick up again on a sustained basis. From today’s perspective, sales and order intake for the company as a whole are expected to be on the same level as last year. The target for the EBIT margin before extraordinary effects is 5.0% to 6.0%.
