DENSO Boosts Global Supply Chain Operations with Oracle Fusion Applications

DENSO CORPORATION, a leading global mobility and automotive technology manufacturer, is using Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications Suite to support its vision to realize big ideas that contribute to a better world. By adding supply chain modules in addition to Oracle Fusion Applications for finance and HR, DENSO is extending its strategic partnership with Oracle to further optimize procurement, manufacturing and logistics processes, increase efficiency, and enhance the employee experience.

Established as a manufacturer of electrical components to supply automobile manufacturers in Japan in 1949, DENSO now sells components to nearly every major motor vehicle manufacturer in the world and employs 158,056 associates, with 187 consolidated subsidiaries. To increase automation and efficiency, enhance decision-making, and mitigate supply chain risks while supporting rapid innovation and decarbonization initiatives, DENSO needed to consolidate supply chain processes on a scalable integrated global system. After careful evaluation, DENSO decided to connect its supply chain processes and data with its existing finance and HR applications and standardize on Oracle Fusion Applications.

“As supply chain operations become increasingly complex, a unified data foundation for advanced technologies such as AI and analytics and forecasting is no longer optional but essential,” said Hirotsugu Takeuchi, CTO (Chief Technology Officer), CDO (Chief Digital Officer), Head of Research & Development Center, Head of Production Innovation Center, DENSO. “This initiative is not just about improving operational efficiency but represents a core system transformation to elevate the speed and quality of decision-making globally. With Oracle Fusion Applications, we can enhance data accuracy and timeliness, and embed AI into business operations to build a more resilient supply chain.”

With Oracle Fusion Applications, DENSO will replace multiple supply chain systems with a single AI-powered supply chain solution that is deeply integrated with finance and HR. Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Oracle Fusion Cloud Human Capital Management (HCM) have already helped DENSO increase productivity, improve financial controls, and enhance the employee experience. Adding Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain & Manufacturing (SCM) modules for planning, procurement, manufacturing, and logistics will help DENSO expand supply chain visibility, improve execution, lower costs, mitigate risk, and accelerate decision-making.

As part of its supply chain modernization initiative and strategic partnership, DENSO and Oracle will establish an AI center of excellence to build and share collective expertise in applying AI across Oracle Fusion Applications and maintain executive alignment throughout the program. DENSO also plans to adopt AI agents and Fusion Agentic Applications to further automate operations.

“DENSO’s continued growth and the increased speed and complexity of its supply chain operations required a new AI-centric and integrated approach,” said Steve Miranda, executive vice president of Applications Development, Oracle. “With Oracle Fusion Applications, DENSO can adopt an AI-powered system of outcomes that can work across the business to automate end-to-end workflows, boost supply chain performance, and drive efficient global growth.”
