Grupo 3corações, founded in 1959, is a Brazilian company with more than 60 years of history and a presence across the country. A leader in coffee and a major player in multiple food & beverage categories, the company has a portfolio of more than 30 brands, including 3 Corações, Santa Clara and regional brands such as Pimpinela, Café Brasileiro and Iguaçu, as well as around 1,000 SKUs. Its offerings span roasted and ground coffee, capsules, soluble and instant coffee, ready-to-drink beverages and categories such as cappuccino and powdered coffee with milk, with a notable presence in specialty coffee as well. With products available in more than 400,000 points of sale in Brazil, its own logistics and commercial structure and exports to Latin America and the United States, Grupo 3corações remains focused on the consumer, continuous innovation and digital transformation.
In the years following the pandemic, as Grupo 3corações advanced digital transformation initiatives across the business, the R&D team saw an opportunity to evolve its own operating model. “We needed to accelerate development and reduce time to market without increasing expenses because it was a difficult period for the business,” says Lucila Garcia, Head of R&D at Grupo 3corações. “From my perspective, we already had the right team in place and our process was serving us well. The only management pillar left to address was the tool.”
That need led to the launch of the R&D 4.0 project. During the vendor evaluation process, Centric stood out for its fit with the team’s requirements and its ease of adoption. “Centric PLM felt more intuitive from the start. It seemed simpler and more natural for the user. It was also a solution specific to food & beverage R&D and integration with other business systems was an important factor because we needed a stronger foundation to centralize information and better protect the knowledge generated by the team,” explains Lucila.
With the implementation of Centric PLM, Grupo 3corações has set a target to reduce time to market by 20%, although speed was not the primary factor behind the decision. “The most compelling argument internally was the protection of digital assets and the control of knowledge generated throughout product development,” says Lucila. Implementation begins with the creation of a raw materials library integrated with ERP and will then expand to additional modules. By structuring and centralizing product data, the company expects to scale with greater control and efficiency. “As the business grows, we expect to support expansion with the same technical rigor, but with more technology,” Lucila adds.
“By adopting Centric PLM, Grupo 3corações reinforces its ability to innovate with consistency while preserving the strong culture it has built over decades,” says Fabrice Canonge, CEO of Centric Software. “Centric Software is excited to be part of this journey as Grupo 3corações combines tradition and digital transformation to drive greater agility, control and sustainable growth.” is pleased to announce that Grupo 3corações has selected Centric PLM™ to drive go-to-market innovation.
