MSC Software Corporation and Nizhniy Novgorod State Technical University, named after R. E. Alekseev (NNSTU n. a. R. E. Alekseev, Nizhniy Novgorod, Russia), one of the leading technical universities in the Volga Federal District of Russia, announce the expansion of their collaboration to train engineers in automotive, shipbuilding, energy and a number of other engineering industries.
In 2011, MSC Software and NNSTU n. a. R. E. Alekseev created the Competence Center for engineering analysis to support the region's high concentration of leading Russian companies in major manufacturing industries. To equip the Competence Center with technology, MSC Software licensed the use of its MSC Nastran, Patran, Adams, Marc, Dytran, Easy5, and Sinda software products.
MSC actively supports the work of the specialists at NNSTU n. a. R. E. Alekseev by regularly conducting training and information seminars on methods of working with the software, as well as consulting support for teaching academic disciplines.
Experts of NNSTU n. a. R. E. Alekseev have close contacts with enterprises of the Volga Federal District and in-depth understanding of the needs in the field of engineering analysis. Their focus is on solving a number of practical problems to illustrate the possibilities of MSC simulation software products and their application in engineering design. Graduates of NNSTU n. a. R. E. Alekseev will become skilled in using MSC products, and in higher demand to find careers in engineering. MSC Software's technology is most actively used in the Institute of Transportation Systems - one of the largest educational and research centers within the University.
"The Competence Center is an important element of training qualified engineers for modern Russian industry," says Anatoliy M. Groshev, Director of the Institute of Transportation Systems of NNSTU n. a. R. E. Alekseev. "Cooperation with MSC Software helps us strengthen our educational and scientific base, promotes financial stability of the Institute and the University as a whole in the context of higher education."
"MSC Software finds great importance in collaborating with universities," says Nikolay A. Bondarenko, MSC Software Regional Director, Russia & CIS. "Preparation of specialists with practical skills in solving real engineering problems using modern simulation technologies is what is needed for the development of high-tech industries in Russia. Effective use of MSC technology in the educational process, research, and in fulfilling industrial orders in cooperation with NNSTU n. a. R. E. Alekseev will continue to expand in the future."
NNSTU n. a. R. E. Alekseev has also acquired commercial licenses of MSC technology allowing the university to carry out engineering services, as well as strengthening ties with industrial enterprises owning and applying MSC Software solutions in practice.
