Enterprise technology solutions firm, I-Cubed, today announced the acquisition of Akoya, Inc., a Chicago-based supply chain analytics solution provider of patented analytic software that helps manufacturers reduce product costs by identifying pricing inefficiencies and optimizing supplier management decisions.
This acquisition represents a significant expansion of I-Cubed’s product lifecycle management (PLM) related service offerings. The addition of Akoya’s part-costing data analytics and optimization technologies to I-Cubed’s strength in PLM, CAD data management and data migration will allow the company to enhance its customers’ ability to realize significant savings within their supply chains.
Akoya analytics technology couples the complex information in the CAD models of engineered parts with purchasing data to provide optimized costing and supply chain information. Caterpillar, John Deere, Textron and AGCO have used this application to reclaim over $100MM in direct material savings.
“Companies are receptive to targeted solutions that can help them cut costs. Akoya’s PLM analytics capabilities will help drive customer value by extracting actionable insights directly from the native CAD content, enhancing decision making throughout the supply chain,” said I-Cubed President and CEO, Donald A. Thompson Jr.
“I-Cubed will help Akoya round out its offering of a comprehensive end-to-end supply chain analytics solution while accelerating their discrete manufacturing customers’ ability to achieve measurable savings,” said Akoya Chief Technology Officer, Alan Stacklin.
