Today, QuadriSpace™ announced major upgrades to Share3D™ Cloud Services (www.share3d.com). New WebGL-based viewing and collaboration features allow anyone with a standard browser to interactively view 3D, markup 3D and add comments. This new ability to view online 3D in a browser expands on the Share3D native apps for iPad, iPhone and PC that were released in 2013. Public examples with interactive 3D are available online here: https://www.share3d.com/pages. Share3D enhances the communication between collaborators leading to faster responses and fewer errors. During collaborations, the specific model view and newly created markups are associated with a comment to greatly enhance collaboration and team understanding.  Submitted comments are captured in the cloud, shared with other participants and archived for future reference.  Recalling a comment on the Share3D website, or with one of the Share3D apps, sets the 3D view to the viewpoint and applies the markups present when the comment was submitted. Integware will publish a new white paper, "Process to On-Board Acquisitions into an Enterprise PLM Architecture," early this week. White paper author and director of PLM at Integware, Graciella Beyers, describes strategies for integrating PLM software and maximizing acquisitions' benefits. The publication will be available to the public on Integware's official website. The white paper addresses three main concerns. First, Beyers outlines requirements for the enterprise PLM infrastructure. Using these guidelines, companies will be able to quickly and efficiently assess current systems and determine whether they need to make any adjustments before installing PLM software. Next, "Process to On-Board Acquisitions" details strategies for product development and ongoing value assessment with combined efforts from business, process, and IT leaders. Finally, the Integware white paper will take an in-depth look at the specific tools, maps, and data flow charts used to track PLM. GRAPHISOFT® announced today its upcoming BIMcloud® Solution in the presence of selected international journalists and top Japanese AEC companies. The exclusive event took place at the prestigious Roppongi Hills Club of Tokyo with live connections to GRAPHISOFT’s Southeast Asia headquarters in Hong Kong as well as its global headquarters in Budapest. “Most people associate Cloud Computing with online services such as Data Storage, Software Virtualization or Software as a Service (SaaS). Potentially, we could accomplish much more with the Cloud but we need to look beyond basic Cloud Services for that,” said Ákos Pfemeter, Vice President of Marketing at GRAPHISOFT. “It may not be part of the common understanding today, but we strongly believe that Cloud Computing is most disruptive to the way people collaborate. GRAPHISOFT’s upcoming BIMcloud Solution will leverage this specifically for the AEC industry by allowing firms of any size to implement fully-integrated BIM collaboration workflows both in public and

solidThinking today announced a major achievement in the additive manufacturing industry which may in future revolutionize the way components are designed and made. Renishaw, the UK's only manufacturer of a metal-based additive manufacturing machine, used solidThinking Inspire® 9.5 software to help create the world's first 3D printed metal bike frame. Chris Williams of Empire Cycles, a leading British bicycle design and manufacturing company, designed the mountain bike to take advantage of Renishaw's additive manufacturing technology, allowing the creation of a titanium frame that would be both strong and light. Renishaw used Inspire to perform the topological optimization and concept generation. Inspire generated a new material layout within the package space using the loads and supports as input. This provided a concept that not only met performance targets, but also achieved minimum mass. A tool such as Inspire goes hand in hand with additive manufacturing by generating component designs that maximize manufacturing

The new advanced hyperMILL® 2013.2. CAM software from OPEN MIND has now been vastly improved in its CAD component, thanks to the new hyperCAD®-S platform. The new hyperCAD®-S will show how it can improve processing speeds and user work flow at MACH 2014 on Stand 5341. In hyperCAD®-S, OPEN MIND has developed its own CAD system that is ideally matched to the CAM system hyperMILL®. This CAD solution is specifically designed to address the requirements of NC programmers. In Version 2013.2, hyperCAD®-S has been improved in a number of ways. Tool and mould making, in particular, is always associated with geometries from a variety of sources. To import these reliably, hyperCAD®-S incorporates a series of first-rate interfaces. The interfaces have now been enhanced for the import of 2D entities, 3D meshes and dimensions as vector graphics by adding a DXF/DWG interface. This allows for layers, colours, line types and work-planes to

The design and development of products for space programs is constantly pushing the leading edge of technology. This translates to implementing requirements to manage a constant flow of engineering design refinement as issues and opportunities for improvement are found during the manufacturing, assembly and test processes. These types of requirements go beyond the typical scenarios for manufacturing. “We are also ready with solutions for more intimate integration of the critical supplier network for the next generation of space programs.” Specialized solutions like iBASEt’s Solumina software suite are designed for more intimate coordination between engineering design functions and the supplier and operations execution network. It is critical to know what engineering changes have been incorporated, which ones are pending, and what actually went up into space. Compliance assurance to specifications and requirements is much more than having a cabinet full of paperwork to demonstrate compliance. It is about controlling the processes proactively in a
