Delcam Taiwan will highlight developments across Delcam’s range of manufacturing software on stand 4C603 at the TMTS exhibition to be held in Taichung, Taiwan, from 5th to 9th November.  The new CADCAM software on show will include the 2015 releases of the PowerSHAPE Pro CAD package, the PowerMILL CAM system for high-speed and five-axis machining and the FeatureCAM feature-based programming software. Busan-based Unique Design and Intellectual Networks Engineering Co., Ltd. (UDIN) has recently entered into agreement with SENER Korea Engineering and Systems Co., Ltd. (SKES) for the permanent license of the FORAN System and related technical assistance. The agreement completes a process started off in July 2013 with the integral application of FORAN on a temporary license basis to a couple of real projects carried out by UDIN: a series of medium-range tankers (FORAN 3D model pictured) being built by Samsung Heavy Industries in its factory of Ningbo (China) for Greek owner Evangelos Marinakis, and a 1,200 pax ferry being built by POSCO PlanTEC in Busan for Zanzibar Government. At present, some 200 UDIN designers are smoothly working with FORAN, finishing the above mentioned projects and starting new ones, such as another series of MR tankers for the Chinese shipbuilder Honghua and several offshore units for IHI Aichi Shipyard in Japan. The engineering and technology group SENER has opened an Engineering and Construction division in Manchester to reinforce its presence in the United Kingdom. The group already has work sites set up in the UK and it maintains a close 25-year relationship with Rolls Royce through ITP, a leader in the global market for industrial and aeronautical engines in which SENER (53.125%) and Rolls Royce (46.875%) are the two shareholders. The new office will lend the support needed for ongoing projects such as the construction of two Queen Elizabeth-class aircraft carriers for the Royal Navy.
