New Corporate Design for Nemetschek Group

The Nemetschek Group presents its new corporate design. The main elements are the new logo and the launch of the new website, which reinforce the alignment of the Group as an internationally leading software provider for the entire life cycle of buildings. The addition of “Group” is a clear reference to the group structure of a strategic parent company with strong, independent brands. An external appearance which is consistent worldwide will make the international alignment of the Nemetschek Group and the common bond of the brands clear: “A NEMETSCHEK COMPANY” will be added to every brand in the course of the upcoming year. This allows the brands to present a face to the customer which showcases their individual strengths, make it possible for them distinguish themselves from each other and at the same time remain recognizable as members of a strongly positioned international corporate group and as Nemetschek brands. The first installment in a three-part series that explores the platformization of PLM ANN ARBOR, Michigan, 11 December 2014—CIMdata, Inc., the leading global PLM strategic management consulting and research firm announces the publication of a new position paper detailing how the “platformization” of PLM is morphing into new ways of going about the business of innovation. “How and Why PLM is Being Transformed Into a Product-Oriented Innovation Platform” explores in detail how, due to its ongoing evolution as a business strategy, PLM is fast approaching and in some cases achieving the status of a business platform. PLM-as-a-platform, or the platformization of PLM, has evolved out of the need for innovation throughout the product lifecycle. This paper, the first in a series of three CIMdata position papers on this topic, considers the major drivers for higher levels of innovation—the Circular Economy, including the concept of “servitization,” and globalization. The need for innovation has never

PDF Key takeaways: The combination of scarce resources and globalization are driving an upheaval in innovation and lifecycle management Scarcity and globalization upheavals are coalescing into business strategies that demand the “platformization” of PLM The Iron Triangle of better / faster / cheaper is no longer good enough In its ongoing evolution as a business strategy, PLM is approaching and in some cases already achieving the status of a business platform. PLM has always been a core enabler for innovation as part of a business strategy. Now PLM-as-a-platform, or the “platformization” of PLM, is morphing into new ways of going about the business of innovation. There are two major drivers for higher levels of innovation, and they are unstoppable. One is the Circular Economy, where, according to the UK-based Ellen MacArthur Foundation, “today’s products are tomorrow’s resources.” Closely related to the Circular Economy is “servitization,” manufacturers delivering their products as services under service-level agreements (SLAs). Fast, reliable and efficient – the configuration software Festo Design Tool 3D reduces the risk of errors when designing and ordering system modules and offers greater convenience. The Festo Design Tool 3D was developed in cooperation with CADENAS the software manufacturer from Augsburg. Delivering system modules as a complete package with one order item simplifies logistics and assembly operations. Until now, there was always a residual risk when dimensioning and ordering pneumatic drives. Many individual system components had to be placed manually by designers using CAD systems, and the result was long lists of items to be ordered. The potential for errors was therefore large. More security There is now an answer to this problem – the new Festo Design Tool 3D provides more security. Fast, reliable and efficient, this configuration software provides a convenient way of dimensioning standard cylinder modules with accessories in all the usual CAD formats. The Festo Design Tool 3D

CCE has released a new update of its Unified Interop (UIOp) libraries, version 29.5. "UIOp provides an extremely powerful, yet easy-to-deploy interface to translate multiple CAD formats to Parasolid," said Vinay Wagle, CCE's VP of Marketing and Sales. "With UIOp's unified API, our ISV partners have been able to implement the technology in less than a day, compared to the weeks it normally takes to integrate such broad CAD interop support," added Wagle. UIOp now also provides read access to parts and assemblies from Creo 3.0, Solid Edge ST7, and Autodesk Inventor 2015. In addition, support has been added to translate Rhino and ACIS files to Parasolid. A new option is now provided to select the configuration of the file to be translated; this feature is available for SOLIDWORKS and Solid Edge. There is also a significant enhancement in the performance of all the Parasolid translators in UIOp. The CATIA V5 translator in UIOp
