fCoder Group, Inc. has introduced a complete set of software products designed for workflow automation. FolderMill is usually installed on the company server and monitors all the incoming files. The software follows the rules specified by company employees and sets automatic conversion of incoming files to the formats, such as PDF, JPG, TIFF and others. It also allows document printing, where applicable. Deployment of FolderMill can release the users from manual PDF creation and/or printing. All the work is done via two “hot folders” – files to be processed are placed in one of them and taken out of the other completely ready. As a result, there is no necessity to install printer driver and PDF creation software onto each office workstation. More than that, 100% of newly created PDF files and printed documents will satisfy the company standards. For example, all PDF files will be saved in searchable PDF/A format; all documents intended for

The Mysteries of PLM in the Cloud

Over the past year the hype around “the cloud” has grown substantially, but so has the confusion. What is the cloud, should I fear it or love it?  I’ve started digging into the confusion about the cloud and specifically the impacts it has on PLM. First there’s the question of terminology Private, public, single tenant, multi-tenant, hosted, SaaS, on-premise, data centers, and more.  These terms are all references to various forms of the cloud at the fundamental level.  Yes – even the “on-premise”.  But here are some clarifications that may help: Private, single tenant, and on-premise, tend to refer to a single enterprise application per server per business.  So your business owns or leases equipment and owns or leases the software and the databases whether onsite at the business,  at a data center, or at some hosted location.  The configuration of the software will be unique to the business and may be

Altair and AVL today announced a tighter integration between Altair OptiStruct®, an award-winning finite element analysis (FEA) solver that is part of the Altair HyperWorks® computer-aided engineering (CAE) suite, and AVL EXCITE, the market-leading simulation environment for dynamics and acoustics of powertrain systems.  The fast and accurate coupling between OptiStruct and AVL EXCITE shortens the associated workflow, reduces error, and improves the robustness of engine dynamics analyses. The AVL EXCITE product family is a powertrain-oriented rigid and flexible multi-body dynamic analysis solution which provides advanced techniques to calculate the dynamics, strengths, vibration, and acoustics of combustion engines, transmissions, and conventional or electrified powertrains and drivelines.  Outstanding models of lubricated contacts (slider bearings, piston and piston rings) facilitate detailed investigations of the contact behavior, including the prediction of friction and wear. Customers use Altair OptiStruct for structural and NVH analysis as well as to efficiently create flex bodies for engine dynamics analysis.  With this development, Altair OptiStruct
