Intergraph® Process, Power & Marine, has acquired OhmTech A/S of Stavanger, Norway, a provider of pressure vessel design software for more than 30 years. OhmTech's technical and development staff in Norway have joined Intergraph as part of the acquisition. The acquisition of OhmTech and its Visual Vessel Design software represents a pressure vessel market share expansion into Europe for Intergraph, as well as the addition of multi-language support for important European design and construction codes and standards. Visual Vessel Design is a graphical Microsoft® Windows® program for the calculation and design of pressure vessels, shell and tube heat exchangers and boilers to different international and local design codes. IronCAD announced their first product update for their 2015 release, which includes customer-driven quality improvements and some exciting design collaboration features. The IronCAD Design Collaboration Suite (DCS) 2015 Product Update #1 boasts a 10X speed improvement in the import of Native Files by directly importing the graphical model representations. Software products from Dassault, Siemens and Solidworks can store lightweight graphical representation of models, which IronCAD DCS can directly access. Once imported into an IronCAD's scene, users can select parts or assemblies from the imported data to reconstruct into a solid model to allow modification. This ability improves design workflow and cuts down on memory and storage requirements when using customer data in the design process. Additionally, users can use the imported graphical representation in an IronCAD 2D drawing for layout and communication purposes. ASCON Group is pleased to announce that open beta-testing of its new Renga Architecture was successfully completed at the end of February. The new AEC 3D CAD from ASCON is due to be released soon. The name “Renga” is based on a hieroglyph (煉瓦) from the Land of Rising Sun, meaning “brick” – the oldest aspect in construction – but also the name for an ancient genre of collective poetry. Designing is, after all, a collective creation! Oracle Corporation announced that fiscal 2015 Q3 Total Revenues were unchanged at $9.3 billion. The strengthening of the U.S. dollar compared to foreign currencies had a significant impact on results in the quarter. Without the strengthening of the U.S. dollar, Total Revenues would have been up 6% as measured in constant currency. Software and Cloud Revenues were up 1% to $7.2 billion, and up 7% in constant currency. Cloud software-as-a-service (SaaS) and platform-as-a-service (PaaS) grew 30% to $372 million, and grew 34% in constant currency. Hardware Systems Revenues were down 2% to $1.3 billion, but were up 5% in constant currency. GAAP Operating Income was down 5% to $3.4 billion, and the GAAP operating margin was 36%. Non-GAAP Operating Income was down 4% to $4.2 billion, and the non-GAAP operating margin was 45%.
