Atkins has chosen AVEVA Everything3D (AVEVA E3D) and AVEVA Laser Modeller software to support Lean Construction processes. Atkins has already executed many successful projects on AVEVA PDMS and is keen to increase its delivery standards with AVEVA E3D. Key capabilities that persuaded Atkins to migrate to AVEVA E3D were its ‘BubbleView’ laser scan imagery and the tight integration of AVEVA Laser Modeller, which enables laser scans to be readily converted into intelligent, as-built 3D design models. “We’ve had a long and productive relationship with AVEVA and are excited to deploy even more advanced AVEVA technology on some of our high-profile projects,” said Nick Wells, Operations Director, Atkins. “The ability to have laser scan data directly integrated into the AVEVA E3D design environment is very impressive. This enables our designers to immediately understand and work with accurate data, minimizing rework in the design office, the fabrication yard and the construction site. The

Bridging the Requirements Gap with Model-Based Systems Engineering   A CIMdata Systems Engineering and Simulation & Analysis Knowledge Council Workshop Proceedings Morning Sessions - Wednesday April 9, 2014 08:00 – 08:45 | Registration and Networking Over Coffee 08:45 – 09:00 | Welcome and Introduction [View Presentation] Gerard Litjens, Director of European Operations, CIMdata [Bio] Introduction to the Workshop and update on CIMdata and its direction, for 2014 and beyond. 09:00 – 09:30 | System of Systems: Way Beyond the Product [View Presentation] Don Tolle, Director of Systems Engineering & Simulation Consulting Practices, CIMdata [Bio] The circular economy is well represented as a system of systems. Product concepts now consider perspectives well beyond the physical product’s definition (hardware, software, and electronics) to include many other factors, including production, logistics, installation, ongoing maintenance throughout its useful life, and ultimately, retirement from service and recycling. This presentation will examine some of the ways that systems engineering (SE) can support the circular economy. In addition, CIMdata will present early results from

PDF Key takeaways: In today’s global marketplace, the world is indeed flat and competitors and business opportunities can come from anywhere Global value chains have to satisfy the compliance requirements for all countries in which they do business The ever-changing nature of compliance regimes requires a product development environment that can rapidly adapt Satisfying Global Compliance Requirements The seeds of globalization were planted in the first Industrial Revolution. Industrial practices resulted in standardized products, creating economies of scale. Steamships greatly reduced the costs of international transportation, replaced in the next hundred years by mammoth cargo ships, laden with shipping containers, invented in 1956 to help better connect shipping with land-based transportation to bring goods to every corner of the globe Communications technology made it easy to do business with remote partners and customers. As a result, companies of all sizes are making and delivering products that are sold, seemingly, everywhere. These changes created a level playing field,

PDF Key takeaways: Effective SAP PLM implementations require an implementer that has strong SAP PLM expertise who also understands their customer’s industry and business model In addition to implementing SAP PLM they are also trusted and employed by SAP as a partner to develop PLM technologies and solutions LeverX has significant experience and expertise in implementing SAP PLM in multiple industries and has the scale to handle large, global implementations Introduction SAP is well known in the enterprise resource planning (ERP) space. However, they are not as well known as a provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions. The reality is that SAP has been providing product data management (PDM) and now PLM solutions since the early 1990s. Unfortunately, the early PDM solutions were limited in scope, complex to implement, and most importantly, had a reputation of being difficult to use by engineering and technical staff. During the mid 2000s SAP invested to improve its PLM solutions
