Delcam’s sponsorship of the Bloodhound SSC (SuperSonic Car) adventure will be launched formally at the Autosport International exhibition to be held at the NEC from 9th to 13th January.  Bloodhound SSC aims to set a new world land speed record of 1,000 mph in South Africa in 2016. Delcam staff will be on the Bloodhound SSC stand (2770) at the event to discuss the company’s involvement in the project.  This will include technical support with its manufacturing software and expertise, and the production of some components for the record-breaking vehicle in its Advanced Manufacturing Facility.  Several Delcam customers and technical partners are already using the company’s CADCAM software to manufacture parts for the ultimate jet- and rocket-powered racing car. ANSYS Licenses Datakit Technology

Datakit announces that ANSYS has licensed Datakit translation technology for inclusion in ANSYS translation products. ANSYS is using Datakit technology to extend the range of CAD formats supported and improve translation capabilities in the ANSYS geometry interface offerings. New geometry interfaces for JT and Catia V6 leveraging Datakit technology were introduced with the ANSYS 15.0 release in December. These are standalone interfaces that may be used without a locally installed CAD system. "We're very excited to have ANSYS license our data exchange technology," said Francis Cadin, CEO of Datakit. Siemens has entered into an agreement to acquire TESIS PLMware, a leader in the integration of product lifecycle management (PLM) software with other enterprise applications. The acquisition will further enhance Siemens’ industry software portfolio. TESIS PLMware helps customers improve IT costs and efficiency by providing a proven solution for the integration of Siemens’ Teamcenter® software with the world’s leading ERP systems and other enterprise applications such as MES, CRM and SCM. TESIS PLMware will, after closing, be assigned to Siemens PLM Software, a business unit of the Siemens Industry Automation Division.
