Matthew Loew has over 20 years of experience building and leading high-performance engineering teams in support of challenging development projects in the transportation, defense, energy, industrial, consumer products, and heavy equipment sectors. He has led multiple projects introducing advanced Modeling & Simulation and Model-Based Systems Engineering methods to drive the development of new machines and systems. Prior to joining CIMdata Mr. Loew served as a New Product Development Chief Engineer for Joy Global where he was responsible for leading the development of an innovative 65 tonne hybrid excavator. During his time at Joy Global several patent applications were made as a result of technologies developed under his leadership.
Mr. Loew started his career in the automotive industry working on innovative lightweight and cost effective solutions for body structures and suspension systems with a consulting company called Autokinetics. He was also with ZF Sachs leading the engineering of suspension modules from initial design through to production for multiple Ford vehicle programs. He then transitioned to the defense industry with Stewart & Stevenson Tactical Vehicle Systems where he led the development of multiple concept and demonstrator vehicles. He also served as a Director at Comet Solutions where he helped develop the initial production release and applications of Comet to industry. In addition to his work at CIMdata, he also lectures at the Milwaukee School of Engineering and blogs on ENGINEERING.com.
Mr. Loew holds a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University and a master's degree, also in Mechanical Engineering, from Oakland University.
