Do any of the following statements sound a little too familiar?
  • Without standards for MBE it is difficult to communicate design, build, maintenance, and other intent unambiguously across enterprises.
  • Standards for conveying rich product information will vary by industrial segment—what is needed in automotive companies may be similar, but not identical to what a shipbuilder needs, and these will be vastly different from the needs of a petrochemical company.
  • Standards tend to evolve over time, so adoption is not a one-time event, companies will need to be very nimble and continue to expend resources to keep up with the latest.

Many companies are adopting Model-Based Enterprise (MBE) as a fundamental business practice. In doing so, these companies enter some uncharted waters concerning how to create a model that can become the base for their product lifecycle processes. For hundreds of years we have relied on drawings and associated documents to be the basis of product realization. In the new MBE world companies need guidance on how to move what has been a well-established drawing-based enterprise practice into one that is model-based. A primary problem is that standards for many aspects of MBE are non-existent or immature. This webinar will take a look at what standards exist and what still needs to mature.

What will I learn by attending this webinar?

You will gain a better understanding of:

  • The current state of standards related to MBE.
  • The benefits of adopting MBE-related standards.
  • Which organizations are pushing the standards envelope.
  • The current standards.
Join us for this webinar if you want to:
  • Understand the current state of MBE standards development: who is involved, what is available, what is missing
  • Understand the impact of adopting standards on the business
Who should attend?

Regardless of your state along the MBE journey you will find this webinar to be timely and informative. Attendees can come from many parts of organizations—MBE is cross functional. People from multiple levels will find the information pertinent and valuable.

During the webinar you’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions about the topics discussed.
