(CIMdata) complies with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Framework as set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal information transferred from the European Union (EU) to the United States (US). CIMdata has certified to the Department of Commerce that it adheres to the Privacy Shield Principles. If there is any conflict between the terms in this privacy policy and the Privacy Shield Principles, the Privacy Shield Principles shall govern. Scope and Responsibility

CIMdata is committed to Lawful, Fair, and Transparent processing

CIMdata will process personal data in a lawful, fair, and transparent manner. CIMdata will process personal data only for legitimate purposes, and will not process data other than for legitimate purposes. CIMdata will inform customers about the processing activities on their personal data through the auspices of this Privacy Policy.

CIMdata limits the processing of your personal data

CIMdata provides various services to its Customers who purchase its products and services. CIMdata collects personal data from Customers when they purchase its products and services, register with our website, log-in to their account, complete surveys, request information, download information, register for events and webinars, purchase documents from our on-line store, complete web-based forms or otherwise communicate with us.

The information that we collect is used for selling the products and services, managing relationships, reporting, invoicing, renewals, and other operations related to providing services and products to the customer.

CIMdata will release personal information as required in response to lawful requests by public authorities, and to meet national security or law enforcement requirements.

CIMdata recognizes your rights for access to your data

You have the right to ask for modifications to your personal data if you believe that this personal data is not up-to-date or accurate.

CIMdata maintains your personal privacy

CIMdata has adopted this Privacy Shield Policy to establish and maintain an adequate level of personal data privacy protection.

Except as otherwise provided herein, CIMdata discloses personal data only to third parties who reasonably need to know such data only for the scope of the initial transaction and not for other purposes. Such recipients must agree to abide by confidentiality obligations. CIMdata may provide personal data to third parties that act as agents, consultants, and contractors to perform tasks on behalf of and under our instructions. Such third parties must agree to use such personal data only for the purposes for which they have been engaged by CIMdata and they must either:

  • comply with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield principles or another mechanism permitted by the applicable EU data protection law(s) for transfers and processing of personal data
  • or agree to provide adequate protections for the personal data that are no less protective than those set out in this Policy

CIMdata protects against personal data breaches

CIMdata maintains its processes and databases in accordance with current good industry practices and in such a manner as to protect against the unauthorized release of your personal data.

CIMdata digitally stores your personal data under license in a third-party database. The vendor of that database is in full compliance with current General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) standards ensuring confidentiality, integrity, availability, and resilience of processing systems and services.

In the event that CIMdata becomes aware of a security incident that would result in a risk to the rights and freedoms of natural persons, CIMdata will notify you promptly after CIMdata discovers the security incident.

Recourse, Enforcement, and Liability

In compliance with EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Principles, CIMdata commits to resolve complaints about our collection or use of your personal information. EU individuals with inquiries or complaints regarding our Privacy Shield policy should first contact CIMdata at:

If a Customer's question or concern cannot be satisfied through this process CIMdata has further committed to refer unresolved privacy complaints under US-EU Privacy Shield to an independent dispute resolution mechanism operated by the European Data Protection Authorities. If you do not receive timely acknowledgement of your complaint, or if your complaint is not satisfactorily addressed by CIMdata, EU individuals may bring a complaint before the data protection authority for your country. Finally, as a last resort and in limited situations, EU individuals may seek redress from the Privacy Shield Panel, a binding arbitration mechanism.

Accountability and Liability for Onward Transfer to Third Parties

In cases of onward transfer to third parties of data of EU individuals received pursuant to the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield, CIMdata is fully liable for the proper handling of data transferred to third parties. CIMdata commits to resolve complaints about any use of your personal information by our third party agents by following the same process as outlined in the Recourse, Enforcement, and Liability section of this policy.

Except as otherwise provided herein, CIMdata discloses Personal Data only to third parties who reasonably need to know such data only for the limited and specific purpose of the initial transaction and not for other purposes. Such third party recipients must agree to abide by confidentiality obligations.

CIMdata ascertains the third party agent:

  • complies with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Principles or another mechanism permitted by the applicable EU data protection law(s) for transfers and processing of Personal Data
  • or is obligated to provide adequate protections for the Personal Data that are no less protective than those set out in this Policy

CIMdata takes all appropriate steps to ensure that the third party agent processes any transferred information in a manner consistent with EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Principles.

CIMdata requires its third-party agents to:

  • Notify CIMdata immediately if it makes a determination that it can no longer provide the same level of protection as required by the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Principles.
  • Upon such notice CIMdata is liable to take appropriate steps to stop and remediate unauthorized processing.
  • At that time CIMdata will provide a summary copy of the relevant privacy provisions of its contract to the US Commerce Department upon request.

Notification and Changes

CIMdata notifies Individual Customers about its adherence to the EU-US Privacy Shield principles through its publicly posted website privacy policy, available at: http://www.CIMdata.com/en/privacy-policy and takes a customer’s approval and adherence to the current policy when they provide their information to us in the transactional process.

This policy may be amended from time-to-time, consistent with EU-U.S. Privacy Shield Principles and applicable data protection and privacy laws and principles. Appropriate notice regarding such changes will be given.
