David Baum, President, Strategic Manufacturing Technologies (formerly Raytheon)
David Baum served Raytheon Corporation for 11 years as Senior Principal Engineer, leading the Mechanical Engineering Design Processes team, where he co-led process development for Raytheon’s model-based enterprise initiatives across radar, missile, and integrated electronic systems programs. He held positions in manufacturing, quality, and design with leading A&D companies, including General Electric, Harris Corporation, and Northrop Grumman. After retiring from Raytheon in 2014, David re-started his consulting firm, Strategic Manufacturing Technologies (SMT), which specializes in helping aerospace, defense, and medical device companies accelerate product development. His credentials include a Master of Business Administration from St. John’s University and Industrial Engineering degrees from the University of Rhode Island.
