Jim Cosco is Vice President of Quality Strategy, Systems & Processes for the Enterprise Group. He is responsible for developing and leading a global and division-wide quality program that will drive product quality to be the best in the industry.
Jim joined HP in January 2011 from Motorola where he was vice president, Chief Quality & Sustainability Officer for Motorola’s Home & Networks Mobility business. In this role, he was responsible for leading quality, customer loyalty, and business process improvement initiatives, including the Customer Loyalty program, Quality Management System certifications, Product Life Cycle, Environmental Sustainability, and Lean/Six Sigma. He built a quality culture that delivered greater customer satisfaction, improved software, hardware and service quality, and improved financial results.
Prior to Motorola, Jim broadened his quality and business experience in financial services with Washington Mutual Bank (WAMU) where he was Senior Vice President of Retail Bank Operational Strategy. He held several senior-level positions at WAMU and was responsible for the corporate process improvement (Lean/Six Sigma) program, which enabled the company to dramatically improve its customer experience, quality and efficiency.
Jim’s technical and professional foundation was developed over 18 years in aerospace electronics with AlliedSignal/Honeywell Aerospace and the United States Air Force where he held various positions of increased responsibility in engineering, manufacturing, quality, process improvement, service and operations.
Jim has over 26 years’ experience managing and fundamentally improving operations in leading companies within the defense and aerospace manufacturing, consumer electronics, and financial services industries. He is a certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt and Lean expert and has designed and deployed continual process improvement programs at several major public companies.
Jim holds a bachelor of management degree from Baker University and an MBA from the University of Washington.
