24 October

  1. 07:30 – 08:30 | Registration & Morning Coffee in the PLM Collaboration Café
  2. 08:30 – 08:40 | Welcome
Gerard Litjens, Vice President EMEA, CIMdata [Bio]
  3. 08:40  – 09:25 | KEYNOTE: The State of the PLM Industry: The Digital Revolution
    Peter Bilello, President, CIMdata [Bio]
This presentation will review of the current state of the PLM industry with emphasis on today's major business trends and issues, including Industry 4.0, the Internet of Things, Digital Twins, and other emerging topics that are critical to the global PLM economy.
  4. 09:25 – 10:00 | The Connected Enterprise
Industry 4.0 has had the promise of increasing efficiency, quality, and sustainability of manufacturing processes throughout the extended enterprise. This presentation will feature a company that has gone through such a successful Industry 4.0 implementation, and will share the steps and phases they went through to realize that, as well as discussing the role that PLM had in this success.
  5. 10:00 – 10:30 | Sponsor Vignettes

  6. 10:30 – 11:00 | Networking Break & PLM Collaboration Café
  7. 11:00  – 11:30 | Sponsor Vignettes
  8. 11:30 – 12:05 | The IoT-enabled Enterprise
The Internet of Things (IoT) provides companies with new opportunities for understanding how products are manufactured and used in the real world. This presentation will consider the steps and change process that one company went through to become successfully IoT enabled.

  9. 12:05  – 13:15 | Networking Lunch & PLM Collaboration Café
  10. 13:15  – 14:00 | Digital Revolution in Automotive
  11. In a mid-range vehicle there are more than 100 vertical mechatronic and cybertronic systems. Each of these consists of up to 30 subsystems. Today, these vertical systems are each assigned to a specific system supplier who has the mechatronic development competence. It is evident that with a horizontal networking of the systems, a much higher customer benefit would arise, e.g. if the Adaptive Cruise Control were networked with the Navigation and Steering System. To implement this interconnectivity, OEMs need to take on the Mechatronic Architecture competency and design and network horizontal systems at an upper level of the system architecture.
  12. 14:00 – 14:35 | Additive Manufacturing Enabled Supply Chain
  13. Blockchain technology has been used in crypto-currency transactions most notably Bitcoin. Blockchain has several key attributes that lend it to provenance in the supply chain, product lifecycle management, and digital thread definition. This presentation will cover some key problems, benefits, and solutions in these areas using Blockchain technology.
  14. 14:35  – 15:10 | Additive Manufacturing at a Tier-one Aeropace Supplier
  15. As Industries begin to mature their strategies toward achieving value through the use of Additive Manufacturing they are finding many successes and challenges. This session will cover strategic decisions around metal AM in an Aerospace Company and explore how people, process and tool paradigms are being affected.

  16. 15:10  – 15:40 | Networking Break & PLM Collaboration Café
  17. 15:40  – 16:15 | Physics-based Digital Twins: Beyond Data Analytics
While not entirely new as a concept, the area of Digital Twins is gaining significant engineering attention, as well as executive mindshare with the rapid emergence of IoT platforms and big data analytics. A key point to be explored in this session is that the Digital Twin cannot help to predict and optimize “as used” system performance unless there is a physics-based model in the loop with the IoT acquired raw data. But what are the practical business applications today and what technical challenges remain.
  18. 16:15  – 16:55 | KEYNOTE: Bringing all the Digitalization Trends Together, what's next?
    Description to come.

  19. 16:55  | Conference Wrap Up

  20. 17:00. | Conference Adjourns
