New Generation Computing, Inc. (“NGC”) today announced that it was selected as a recipient of the 2018 Supply & Demand Chain Executive SDCE 100 Awards for the eighth consecutive year.
The SDCE 100 is an annual list of 100 great supply chain projects that serve as a map for supply chain executives who are looking for new opportunities to drive improvement in their own operations. The award spotlights successful and innovative transformation projects that deliver bottom-line value and achieve supply chain excellence.
This year, NGCTM was recognized for its work deploying the AndromedaTM Cloud Platform with Groupe Dynamite, a global fashion retailer with two brands at the heart of its success, Garage and Dynamite. The process of raw material procurement and management in the fashion industry typically requires long lead times, which does not meet the needs of the agile, fast-fashion world that Groupe Dynamite operates in. To reduce lead times, Groupe Dynamite implemented the NGC Andromeda Cloud PlatformTM to place and manage pre-positioned raw materials commitments so new and replenishment orders can enter production in a matter of days. This postponement technique allows Groupe Dynamite to quickly make go/no-go production decisions by evaluating current product supply vs. in-season sales trends.
“NGC Andromeda provides Groupe Dynamite with a level of visibility and cross-functional data that cannot be matched through spreadsheet management,” said Scott Fennell, business development specialist, Groupe Dynamite. “All of our business units constantly use Andromeda to meet supply chain demand requirements that ensure material allocation decisions are efficiently utilizing available resources. In an industry where lead time reduction is vital, showing merchandisers their material position in real-time is a key contributor to Groupe Dynamite’s success.”
Andromeda redistributes the workload across multiple departments, eliminates many versions of complex spreadsheets, and provides a portal to share information with all stakeholders. By using Andromeda, Groupe Dynamite expects to reduce fabric liabilities by 50% in the first year.
“It’s an honor to be named a SDCE 100 recipient for the eighth year in a row,” said Mark Burstein, president, NGC. “The Group Dynamite project is just one of many examples of how the Andromeda Cloud Platform is helping apparel brands and retailers enable the Digital Supply Chain to create visibility across the supply chain, facilitate postponement strategies and reduce lead times.”
