CCE has announced major enhancements of its Open Data Exchange (ODX) libraries focused significantly on Product Manufacturing Information (PMI) data.
CCE has made significant improvements in PMI support for its CATIA V5 and NX ODX libraries. PMI support for CATIA V5 has been improved to support semantic data for datum targets and geometric tolerances, which allow applications to create PMI entities based on their native definitions. Other enhancements include support for weld annotation symbols and entity associations with their surface-canonicity details. For NX files, CCE now provides access to semantic data for Feature Control Frames (FCF). CCE also allows writing of linear and angular dimensions for NX data.
“A lot of our focus this past year has been around making our PMI support more comprehensive and robust. With the push towards Model Based Enterprise and Model Based Design, engineering departments across the supply chain are creating far richer 3D models than they did up until a few years ago. It is our obligation to keep our ears to the ground to ensure that we provide our ISV customers with whatever enhancements they need to constantly meet their evolving customer base,” said Debankan Chattopadhyay, CCE’s Business Development Manager.
Among other significant updates, persistence support was enhanced by providing persistent identifiers for “lumps” in CATIA V5 data. Geometric tolerances (G-Tols) support was also extended to support annotation application mode details that allow applications to create G-Tols along with auxiliary feature indicators, to exactly represent a tolerance zone.
“CAD interoperability is a strategic technology for our ISV customers and our shared success depends on our ability to constantly invest in R&D and keep our software updated with new enhancements,” added Debankan.
