SAP Named a Top Five Company for Women Technologists

SAP today announced the company was named to AnitaB.org’s Top Companies for Women Technologists, earning one of the five highest overall scores in the workforce-size category of 10,000+ technical employees.

This recognition demonstrates SAP’s continued, measured and intentional focus on gender equality as a core component of SAP’s holistic diversity and inclusion strategy. The announcement was made at the Grace Hopper Celebration in Houston, Texas.

AnitaB.org’s Top Companies for Women Technologists is a U.S program that recognizes companies committed to building workplaces where women in technology roles can thrive. The honor came after the evaluation of 80 companies and more than 150,000 women technologists across a variety of fields. Top Companies are selected based on a methodology where organizations submit data on representation, programs and policies, and workplace experiences.

“Ensuring that SAP is a great place to work with opportunities for women to grow is our goal,” said Stefan Ries, member of the Executive Board of SAP SE and chief human resources officer (CHRO). “It’s been an honor to be recognized on the AnitaB.org ‘Leadership Index’ for Top Companies for the last two years, and we are very excited this year to be elevated to this Top Five list.”

SAP has several key initiatives that empower and educate women in the organization, including the Leadership Excellence Acceleration Program (LEAP), a year-long leadership development program aimed at helping women at SAP rise into management positions; the Women’s Professional Growth Webinar Series, a monthly program that reaches more than 6,800 employees in more than 40 countries; and the Business Women’s Network (BWN), which offers opportunities for women to connect on key topics of interest. Additionally, SAP announced in June 2017 that it met the board-level goal of having women fill 25 percent of management positions globally, and pledged a continued commitment to increasing the number of women in management each year by 1 percent, to reach 30 percent by 2022.

“As part of our continued commitment to expanding opportunities for women within the company and beyond, we are excited to continue to share the progress being made within the organization in our efforts to achieve gender equality,” said Shuchi Sharma, global lead, Gender Intelligence, SAP. “This recognition shows that SAP is making progress in the right direction and is leading by example.”

For the past two years, SAP has been included on the AnitaB.org “Leadership Index”; this is the first year it has been listed in the Top Companies for Women Technologists. SAP joins Accenture, Bank of America, Google and IBM in receiving this recognition during this year’s Grace Hopper Celebration.
