The latest BIM 360 Docs update includes review and approval workflow enhancements and usability and quality improvements. In addition, we released a new version of the BIM 360 iOS and Android apps earlier this week.
Review and Approval Workflow Enhancements
We have updated the experience for the reviewer, so that the action options are more clear. We have separated out the available actions into three buttons
- Submit Review (this submit’s the reviewer’s comments and the user/role/company assigned to the next step can review)
- Release Task (this will cancel the reviewer’s assignment and it will be available for someone else to “Start Review” for that workflow step)
- Void Entire Review (this will completely void the process). This was previously labeled “End Review,” and we have updated the label to reflect the action that will occur if this option is chosen.
We have also added more system email notifications, so that the participants in the workflow process (initiator, for example) will know when the review process has been completed.
Usability Enhancements
In response to customer feedback, we have updated the icon for “deleted items” (it was previously a folder).
We have also removed the grey check mark (in the folder menu) that indicated the user was not subscribed to the folder. The blue check mark indicates “subscribed” (as before), but is blank if not subscribed.

- Made a few improvements and bug fixes
Note: The BIM 360 Docs iOS app is retired as of February 28, 2019. It is no longer available on the App Store. If you have not do so already, please download the BIM 360 iOS app to access your documents on your iPhone or iPad.
