Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has appointed Hiromichi Kakihara as the President and Chief Executive Officer of TCS Japan, the firm’s joint venture with Mitsubishi Corporation, taking over from Amur S Lakshminarayanan (Lakshmi) at the end of September 2019.
As a founding member and Executive Vice President of TCS Japan, Mr Kakihara has contributed to the company’s growth in the Japanese market. He has been working in the IT and consulting sector for two decades and has a wealth of experience servicing customers globally.
Lakshmi has held various leadership positions during his 35 years at TCS, and was the inaugural president and CEO of the joint venture set up in 2014. Under his stewardship, TCS Japan has significantly enhanced its footprint, and emerged as one of the fastest growing IT services firms in its class in Japan. Lakshmi will now be moving to another role within the Tata Group.
TCS Japan completed five successful years in July this year. Leveraging a unique model that combines deep domain knowledge, technology expertise, and strong global and local execution, the firm has achieved double-digit revenue growth in constant currency terms in each of the last two years.
