Bechtle extends collaboration with AWS

Bechtle announced a Strategic Collaboration Agreement (SCA) with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to support their mutual customers in realising individual cloud strategies and building highly agile IT solutions. Customers will benefit in particular from extensive services for cloud projects and faster migration to AWS. The multi-year agreement covers the entire DACH region and primarily addresses small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and public sector customers.

Combining Bechtle’s project experience and technical expertise with AWS capabilities gives every SME the opportunity to take full advantage of the cloud. Customers benefit from individual consultation for every use case and can collaborate with their regional Bechtle account manager when migrating existing solutions or implementing new applications and workloads. Certified AWS experts at the 75 IT system houses throughout the region ensure the highest levels of proficiency in planning and implementation over the entire cloud lifecycle. In its work with AWS, Bechtle’s focus is predominantly on the migration and operation of SAP environments, databases and hybrid infrastructures, the provisioning of standard solutions for backup and disaster recovery plus the support of innovations with cutting edge IoT scenarios.

Bechtle and AWS have showcased a successful relationship since 2018, enabling customers throughout Europe to procure flexible and highly-scalable AWS services from the Bechtle Clouds platform. Customers therefore benefit from additional options for the efficient operation of IT infrastructures and applications in the cloud. Over the last few years, Bechtle has added many experts certified in AWS services to its ranks. In addition to the one established at Bechtle Bonn/Cologne, Bechtle is planning to set up another specialist Competence Centre that will be available to all Bechtle Group locations.

“We are proud and delighted about the agreement made with AWS, particularly because our mutual customers will benefit greatly from it. We aspire to show our customers a future-proof way into the cloud that is both economically attractive, but that also ensures greater security and flexibility, and unlocks potential. In short, holistic cloud architectures that drive our customers’ success”, says Melanie Schüle, Managing Director, Bechtle Clouds GmbH. Bechtle has already successfully migrated infrastructures and applications to AWS for a number of well-known customers, particularly SMEs, including an international player in the energy industry and an IT service provider specialising in the field of SAP consulting.

„As an AWS Select Consulting Partner, Bechtle now also supports our shared customers on their journey to the cloud. Bechtle accompanies and consults their customers on organizational development, change management and implementation”, says Klaus Bürg, General Manager Germany, Austria and Switzerland, Amazon Web Services, Inc. “Thanks to a trustful relationship built over the years and the clear focus of Bechtle on standard solutions like SAP, innovative topics like IoT and modern cloud architectures, customers will receive support exactly where needed.”

“We wanted to store our data backups in the cloud and leverage AWS to do so. Amazon Web Services recommended Bechtle as an expert in the field of backup and recovery and we were very impressed by their professionalism. Thanks to Bechtle, we have not only succeeded in dramatically reducing costs, but we have a system that works absolutely flawlessly. We couldn’t be happier. Working with Bechtle was a real benefit for us”, says Daniel Holstein, Head of Networks and Systems, ZOLLERN GmbH & Co. KG.
