The new release of Smap3D Plant Design has been available since December 2021 and features a special highlight in addition to enhancements in the P&ID, Piping and Isometric applications: The proven end-to-end plant design solution can now also be integrated with the renowned CAD software Autodesk Inventor. In the following, we present some selected innovations.
NEW: Integration with Autodesk Inventor
After Solid Edge and SOLIDWORKS, the Smap3D Plant Design software package can now also be combined with Autodesk Inventor. With the sophisticated end-to-end plant design solution, Inventor users can generate 2D diagrams, then plan them as 3D piping directly in the CAD, simulate feasibility, create isometrics and connect manufacturing via MES. In addition, a large number of available pipe classes from various industries, symbol libraries, standard part libraries and internal plausibility checks are available. The creation of individual (factory) standard parts is also possible with Smap3D Plant Design 2022 for Autodesk Inventor.
P&ID: Edit line data
The new Edit lines datafieldstool now provides users with the same multiple editing convenience for line data fields as for symbols and symbol data fields, where it has been available for many versions.
Isometric: New interfaces for custom applications
Custom Postprocess Plug-Ins: This new interface allows customers to use custom plug-ins (EXE or DLL files) to perform additional custom processing and automation with the files output from Isometric and ISOGEN©.
Use of custom Python scripts: With this new interface, customers can have their own developed "Python scripts" applied within the Isometric rules so that the determination and processing of the necessary property values fully comply with the customer's specifications before they are passed to ISOGEN© for the creation of the isometric drawings.
