EON Reality, the global leader in Augmented and Virtual Reality-based knowledge and skills transfer for industry and education, announces a new development in its partnership with AMTRON in India to bring a massive EON-XR delivery and knowledge metaverse hub to the area.
After initially announcing the partnership in March of 2020, the latest update sees EON Reality and AMTRON bring the first knowledge metaverse hub — along with a huge EON-XR rollout targeting 200 schools and 40,000 students — to India. This new collaboration will allow users to learn, train, perform and share using cutting-edge XR technology, while also providing digital transformation opportunities for local, regional and national governments. Through these tools, EON Reality and AMTRON will be able to upskill workers, improve academic performance, and increase the quality of life for those in the Indian state of Assam and beyond.
The Assam Electronics Development Corporation Ltd. — better known as AMTRON — is a key bridge between the government and industrial sectors in Assam and a major piece of India’s technological initiative known as Digital India. By introducing EON-XR and the knowledge metaverse, AMTRON will be able to immediately raise the region’s standings on an international stage, join more than 70 other nations within EON Reality’s global network, and become a promising contributor to the knowledge metaverse.

In addition to the typical workforce training and academic learning provided by EON-XR, the new knowledge metaverse hub will provide numerous possibilities for the area that didn’t previously exist. That means creating and distributing digital territory and assets via NFT technology, assisting local startups and entrepreneurs, improving the health, safety, security, and daily lives of as many citizens as possible, and strengthening the regional culture and community through digitization.
As EON Reality’s first partner of this size in India, AMTRON and its partners will not only be important users of EON-XR, but also valuable contributors to EON Reality’s global network and the knowledge metaverse. In recent months, EON Reality has seen over 70 academic institutions, governments, and private companies become creators and curators for the growing knowledge metaverse — each creating and sharing experiences based on their own areas of expertise. The long-term hope is that teachers, students, entrepreneurs, and other citizens within Assam will provide their own additions once they’ve adapted to the technology.

The Tech City location mentioned by Yadav is being developed as a one-of-a-kind IT and technology hub in India, drawing interest from many national and global entrepreneurs who are keen to set up various manufacturing facilities and educational and training opportunities. It is expected to boost the IT industry of the state of Assam and bring in employment opportunities for the area’s youth.
