Altair, a global leader in computational science and artificial intelligence (AI), announced that Jeff Marraccini has been named chief information security officer. In this role, he is responsible for the strategy and the implementation of Altair’s global security programs across all functions, including Altair’s DevOps center of excellence, IT, legal, and services.
Prior to this role, Marraccini served as Altair’s senior vice president of cloud strategy and technology, where he focused on technical compliance, security controls, tools, cloud specialties, and security vendor operations. In his 25 years at Altair, he has also held other leadership roles focused on IT, computer systems, network systems, and technology security.

Since joining Altair in 1997, Marraccini and his teams have helped transition Altair to hybrid and cloud computing, adopted global voice-over IP technologies and remote access for employee flexibility, led diverse platform support for software development, and more. Before joining Altair, Marraccini worked at Electronic Data Systems, Oakland University, and consulted at various organizations.
Marraccini holds a bachelor’s degree in economics, computer science, and anthropology from Oakland University, is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery, the IEEE Computer Society, and is on the boards of the nonprofit entities Friends of the Troy Public Library and Judson Center.
