Centric Software® is delighted to announce the release of a success story about its customer, The KaDeWe Group.
The KaDeWe Group operates three iconic luxury department stores located in Berlin, Hamburg and Munich. Founded in 1907, KaDeWe’s Berlin store, the second largest in Europe, welcomed more than 50,000 visitors per day in its 60,000 square foot building prior to the pandemic.
All three stores offer carefully curated, high-end portfolios of fashion, beauty, luxury products and accessories for women, men and children. KaDeWe also offers guests a range of home decor brands and cuisine. The array of prestigious international and local brands has made KaDeWe an iconic and unique shopping experience. KaDeWe has ambitious plans to be the leader in the European premium department store segment.
KaDeWe’s main challenge was managing large assortments with multiple products and brands; the Berlin location lists close to 400,000 individual products. Merchandising and buying teams were losing valuable time using antiquated tools such as Excel and email. Furthermore, processes were time-consuming and inconsistent and data errors were all too common. KaDeWe needed to streamline processes.
After considering various digital transformation partners, KaDeWe selected Centric’s Retail Planning solution for its expertise in the multicategory retail sector, track record of customer success, and the easy to use, modern and intuitive interface.
“With the new Centric Retail Planning solution, buying and merchandising teams can work more collaboratively and are saving time because manual data entry has been eliminated,” says Julia Lehmann, Senior Head of Merchandise Management at The KaDeWe Group. “Being able to create ‘what-if’ scenarios empowers teams to make strategic decisions faster and achieve sales and margin targets.”
In addition to massive time-savings, The KaDeWe Group has radically improved transparency across all business units, has better supplier and risk evaluation methods, and more detailed and accurate stock projections.
