ICAM Technologies Corporation announces that it will launch *Integrated PSE V21, the latest version of its integrated Post-processing, Simulation & Emulation software, at IMTS 2014 (Booth: E-3217).
Inside a single software platform, Integrated PSE provides a unique environment for Post-processing, Simulation and Emulation (for G-Code) that interfaces with the most popular CAD/CAM/PLM systems, CNC controllers and machine tools on the market.
Integrated PSE V21 features SmartPATH(TM), patent pending software created to optimize positioning tool paths during post-processing and simulation. SmartPATH provides savings both in CNC run-time positioning and in CAD/CAM tool path preparation.
Rapid positioning motions generated by CAD/CAM software do not take into account machine tool kinematics, work piece setup and travel limitations and therefore, place the burden of responsibility for safe and efficient positioning onto the NC programmer.
SmartPATH identifies inefficient and unsafe positioning motions and automatically replaces them with optimized collision-free safe motions based on the actual machine tool kinematics, physical travel limits, axes positioning rates and the dynamically changing state of the in-process stock.
Building on advanced forward-looking features such as path planning and rotary axes pre-positioning/winding, developed to enhance the machining process while avoiding dwell marks, over-traveling and rotary repositioning, Integrated PSE V21 offers an array of new features including:
- SmartFEED - This optional module adjusts the cutting feed-rate (and if desired, the spindle speed as well), to ensure a constant safe material removal rate.
- SmartCUT - This optional module automatically adjusts cutting motions, to eliminate unnecessary feed motions when the tool is not in contact with the material. These so called _air cuts_ provide no value and can be difficult to resolve from the CAM system. SmartCUT also shortens rapid entry and extends feed exit motions to ensure cutting efficiency and safety.
- Multi-Setup - This V21 feature supports Virtual Machine simulation of manufacturing processes that involve one or more changes of clamping and/or part location on the machine. Multi-setup also automatically tracks the in-process stock state as a part progresses from one manufacturing program to another.
- Simulation Recording - This V21 feature automatically records the complete post-processing & simulation session for later review and analysis.
