Centric Software® is delighted to announce the release of a success story about its customer, Bioworld Merchandising.
Headquartered in Irving, Texas, Bioworld was founded in 1999. A global manufacturer of pop culture products from head to toe—hats, shirts and socks—and closet to kitchen—throw blankets to mugs. Big name entertainment entities familiar to everyone like Star Wars, Marvel, and Disney are just a sampling of their licensors.
The company grew, increasing in complexity due to the depth and breadth of product offerings and the different channels they serve—wholesale, B2B and DTC. Bioworld wanted to replace their old PLM with a modern platform that integrated with other existing business systems.
Due to the pathway that licensing takes, approvals must be tracked. Nathan Grant, VP of Growth at Bioworld says, “[Centric PLM] plays a role in our approval workflows. It’s how we exchange hands internally. When designers have items that they need to pass to our internal licensing team that manages the main communication, it goes through Centric. If I need to get a billboard or a piece of art approved by our customers, they also approve that through the system.”
In just a year and a half, there are already over 101,000 individual products in Centric PLM.
An important consideration in any technology, is ease of use—if the software is difficult or even cumbersome, people just won’t engage. Grant says, “The tool is so user friendly. The minute you get into it, you need very little direction on how to navigate, how to find things. And the views are set up in a way that we can curate it… this system is so smart. It wants you to click on a piece of this chart and when you click on it—whoa, look at what that does! The dynamic charts are one of the things that just blew everybody’s mind.”
