Accenture has completed its acquisition of the people and business assets of Allgemeines Rechenzentrum GmbH (ARZ), a technology service provider focused on the banking sector in Austria. Financial terms of the transaction, previously announced on June 1, were not disclosed.
The acquisition of ARZ’s business capabilities expands Accenture’s cloud-based banking offerings, ranging from core banking services to online banking, as well as regulatory services for clients across Europe. Accenture has also signed a series of agreements to deliver technology services to ARZ’s existing customers.
“The addition of ARZ supports Accenture’s vision to develop an innovative cloud-based banking-as-service platform, leveraging technologies from IBM, Microsoft and SAP,” said Roland Smertnig, senior managing director in Accenture’s financial services practice in Europe. “We will establish a comprehensive center of excellence in Innsbruck to help banks move core functions to the cloud, enable new business models and reinvent customer service and experience.”
ARZ’s approximately 600 employees have joined Accenture and will continue to work in their existing locations in Vienna and Innsbruck.
