BIMcollab, a leading provider for AEC solutions and NCC, a leading construction company in the Nordics, have agreed on a multiyear contract to use its solutions for BIM quality assurance, including BIMcollab Cloud for issue management and BIMcollab ZOOM for model checking.
NCC is at the forefront when it comes to embedding digital strategies into their practice using BIM. The next step is to ensure model quality in every step of development, engineering, and construction for all their projects and clients.
After having successfully implemented BIMcollab issue management on many projects, NCC has seen a significant improvement in communication and project efficiency. Now the company is moving forward to a company-wide rollout of BIMcollab for all projects. This agreement will also expand NCC’s toolset within their VDC (Virtual Design & Construction) departments to clash-detect and validate BIM models on geometry and information accuracy.
We see the combination of BIMcollab ZOOM and BIMcollab Cloud as a complete package that fits into our strategy to become data-informed and have a more complete digital workflow.
- Lavinius Arva, Lead VDC Developer at NCC Group
Within a company like NCC, it is vital to have a well-documented and structured workflow. One that can scale to their size and maximize efforts from the VDC teams. On this journey, BIMcollab has been a valuable partner. Not only in supplying software but also in offering consultancy services. Think of assisting VDC teams from multiple divisions and countries to migrate to the integrated solution BIMcollab offers.
Lavinius believes that with a more streamlined and standardized workflow across NCC they can use the data captured during design for coordination and issues. Combined with analytics tools, they can make use of the added value for current and future projects by having a more informed viewpoint on design and potential issues.
We will implement BIMcollab ZOOM as the main tool for design collaboration & clash detection of the company, and BIMcollab Cloud to centralize communication, manage and analyze issues. Now we will have a more streamlined and standardized workflow.
- Karl Liberg, Lead Specialist VDC at NCC Building Sweden
Both companies are aware this partnership is more than a vendor-client relationship. The goal is to help each other grow in terms of development that is in line with a digital workflow, also with insights and understanding of the design collaboration & coordination process.
We are thrilled to have such a great company as NCC choosing our solutions and services for their BIM quality assurance process. We will continue our efforts to offer the best model validating, checking and communication tools to drive model quality in the years to come.
